邓稼先

邓稼先(1924-1986年)是中国著名核物理学家、杰出的科学家，先后毕业于西南联合大学、美国普渡大学。1950年他回到祖国，他参加组织和领导我国核武器的研究和设计工作，是中国核武器研制工作的开拓者和奠基者，被称为“两弹元勋”。邓稼先在一次试验中，受到核辐射，身患直肠癌，于1986年在北京不幸逝世。

Deng Jiaxian

Deng Jiaxian (1924-1986) was a famous Chinese nuclear physicist and outstanding scientist. He graduated successively from the National Southwestern Associated University and Purdue University (The United States). Upon his return to the motherland in 1950, he organized and led the research and design of China’s nuclear weapons. As the pioneer and groundbreaker of the research of China’s nuclear weapons, he is known as the "founding father of two bombs (the atomic bomb and hydrogen bomb)". Exposed to nuclear radiation during a nuclear test, he came down with rectal cancer and passed away in Beijing in 1986.
