Heilongjiang Province

Heilongjiang, a province in northeast China, also called "Hei" for short, borders Russia, with Harbin as the capital city. Its name came from the name of a river inside the province- the Heilongjiang River. Because of its fertile soil, vast territory and sparse population, Heilongjiang has been an important base for heavy industry, and is also home to a state-owned forest zone and a timber production base.
