维新派

The Reformists

The Reformists was a political faction of Chinese capital class during the 1890s. The reform began with Kang Youwei, Yan Fu, Liang Qichao, and Tan Sitong leading the Reformist Faction. Catalyzed by national crisis after the Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895), it suggested reform for the survival and improvement of China. It advocated a new culture for the capital class and conversion of the autocratic monarchy into a constitutional monarchy.
