那就又上了假朋友的当了。

法语的demander和英语的demand翻成中文都可以是“要求”，两者的区别在哪里呢?

Demander is not to demand, but to ask, to request, while to demand is exiger(exigence),revendiquer, etc.

法语“demander”是询问，请求，需要的意思。

【英语】

英语“demand”是强烈要求，责令的意思

英语的demand翻成法语要用exiger(exigence)revendiquer等词。

下面看几个例句：

Mon fils a demandé un nouveau vélo pour Noël. My son asked for a new bike for Christmas.

我儿子想要辆自行车做圣诞礼物。

Ma nièce a demandé une bourse. My niece has applied for a scholarship.

我侄女申请了奖学金。

En 1940, la France demanda un armistice à l’Allemagne.

In 1940 France asked Germany for an armistice.

1940年，法国向德国请求停战。(就是投降啦)

以上几个例子中的demander都不能翻译成英语的demand.

如:第2句, 如果译为 My niece demanded a scholarship, 那就是向学校强行索要奖学金了. (她爸爸是李刚吧? ^v^)

再如第3句, 如果译成 "France demanded an armistice" 肯定是不对的. 因为当时法国已经战败了, 只能乞求媾和.

再看英语的demand：

The headmaster demanded an explanation. Le directeur exigea une explication.

校长责令(对方)作出解释。

The police are demanding the right to strike. La police revendique le droit de grève.

警察坚决要求得到罢工的权利。
