TOKYO, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- A man fired a gun in a sports center in southern Japan's Nagasaki Prefecture on Friday, killing one people and wounding several others, local media said.

    The man fled from the scene after firing shots at around 7:10 p.m. (0810 GMT) in a store in the sports center in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Kyodo News said.

    A man was killed at site while there were also rumors that a young woman was dead after being sent to hospital, the report said, adding that around five others were wounded in the incident, including children.

    The man, some 190 centimeters tall, may be related with crime gangs, reports said. About a dozen shoppers fled the store when the incident occurred, Kyodo said.
