BALI, Indonesia, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Bali on Friday ran behind schedule to wrap up as negotiations were still underway after midnight.

The Bali Conference, which opened on Dec. 3, was originally scheduled to conclude on Dec. 14.

However, Ministers still needed more discussions and more time to iron out differences over the language of a final document for the meeting.

On Wednesday, 144 ministers and high-level government representatives along with six heads of state gathered in Bali for the high-level segment of the U.N. climate conference, which is expected to launch negotiations on a new global deal on climate change.

The conference, the 13th Conference of the 192 Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the third meeting of the 176 Parties to the Kyoto Protocol, is being attended by more than 11,000 people, making it the largest U.N. climate change meeting ever held.

Next year's Climate Change Conference will be held in Poznan, Poland.
