"Hellman & Friedman was one of Nasdaq's earliest and longest-standing shareholders and Pat Healy has worked with us during some of the most crucial times in Nasdaq's history. We are very grateful for Pat's invaluable insights and the wise counsel he has provided to the Nasdaq organization," said Bob Greifeld, president and chief executive officer of Nasdaq, in a statement.

Healy is currently a managing director at Hellman & Friedman. His primary focus is on the media, financial and professional service industries and the firm's European activities.

Prior to joining the firm in 1994, Healy, who graduated from Harvard College and the Harvard Business School, was employed by James D. Wolfensohn Incorporated and at Consolidated Press Holdings in Australia.
