BEIJING, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Mercedes Benz China has decided to recall two models with design flaws that may cause gasoline leaks, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ) said here Wednesday.

The models subject to recall were the W220 made between September 1997 and March 2004 and the W215 convertible produced between July 1998 and March 2004, the administration said in a statement.

These vehicles have design flaws that could cause gasoline to leak and give off fumes, the statement said.

It is estimated that about 18 vehicles of the said models were sold in China.

The auto-maker will notify the vehicle owners and change the problematic parts for free, the statement said.
