BEIJING, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- China Life Insurance Company Limited, the country's biggest life insurer, said on Monday that its net profit surged 160 percent to 23.29 billion yuan (3.1 billion U.S. dollars) in the first half of this year.

    Its total revenue rose to 101.43 billion yuan (13.3 billion dollars), representing a 39.6-percent increase from the same period of last year, the company said.
