As a Chinese saying goes, "Take your hand, and hold it forever. " Eternal love is what peo- ple dream of, and this kind of love truly exists in Heyuan city, Guangdong province.
Pan Tianci and Gao Di, who were born in 1919 and 1920 respectively, have spent 93 years together and been married for 81 years. Gao joined Pan’ s family as a child bride when she was only two, and later got married at 14. Now they have a family boasting four generations and 15 members in total.
Marriages that have lasted more than 80 years are known as "oak marriages", and are very rare. It is said that only 20 or so couples in the world have oak marriages. Oak is labeled as the free of mystery. Being the tallest and exuberant tree in the world, oak tree is in charge of Cupid the god of love in the Greek ancient myth. Oak marriage refers to the 80 anniversary of marriage, which is derived from French, symbolized the love for a long time.
To celebrate Pan and Gao’ s "oak marriage", an anniversary party was held in the village over the weekend.
Villagers say the couple stays in. good health, and the two of them usually hang out hand in hand. According to their 67-year-old son, Pan and Gao have always respected each other and never lost temper in the past, setting a good example for their progeny.
Part B
范文 As an Chinese old saying goes, "Take your hand, and hold it forever. " It is a good wish for an eternal and beautiful love. It comes true in a city in southeast of China.
Pan Tianci and Gao Di, who were born in the early 1900s, now are in their 90s. This year is the 80th year since they got married, which is called the oak marriage. Oak is the tallest tree in the world, so people use it as name of a long and happy marriage.
As far as I am concerned, Oak marriage is very precious for human beings, what’ s more, the respect and love between the couples are more priceless. They are good role models to us, making us believe that there is true love and it lasts forever.

Media coverage of "leftover men and women" has been widespread in China over the years, raising concerns over this increasingly serious social problem. New phrases like "leftover girls" and "leftover boys" are entering the modern lexicon, referring to women and men in their late 20s or early 30s who are still single. A new report released by China’ s top health authority has once again highlighted the issue.
According to a survey, 21.6% of the leftover men and women are subject to long-term pres- sures from the society and themselves. According to the report, China’ s "leftover" men and women, as unmarried denizens aged over 30 or so are charmingly called, face significant health risks.
The Report on Chinese Family Development 2015 was released by the National Health and Family Planning Commission, who conducted a survey of almost 32,500 households. The result shows that against the backdrop of population migration and big differences between urban and rural areas, unmarried men of all ages are largely limited to the countryside, while unmarried women are concentrated in urban areas.
The report also reveals the trend that an increasing number of men marry women much younger than they are, and that they prefer women in rural areas. This is because it is difficult to find a spouse of their age or in their cities. In some impoverished areas, two percent of the men over 50 years old are still single.
Interestingly, statistics also show that the number of single women in cities who are over 30 is much higher than that in the countryside, because the former group is usually well-educated, more financially independent, and prefers career development to marriage.
THIS IS THE END OF THE TEST.

You might think that good-looking men have every advantage in life.
But new study suggests being handsome may not always work in a man’ s favour—at least when it comes to his career.
The research claims that attractive men are less likely to be given a job in a competitive work- place because they intimidate bosses. "It’ s not always an advantage to be pretty," says Marko Pite- sa, an assistant professor at the University of Maryland. "It can backfire if you are perceived as a threat. "
Interestingly, in Pitesa’ s study, it was male attractiveness in particular, rather than female beauty, that made the most difference. If the interviewer expected to work with the candidate as part of a team, then he preferred goodlooking men. However, if the interviewer saw the candidate as a potential competitor, the interviewer discriminated in favour of unattractive men.
"l——he results suggest that interviewers were not blinded by beauty, and instead calculated which candidate would further their own career.
"The dominant theoretical perspective in the social sciences for several decades has been that biases and discrimination are caused by irrational prejudice," Pitesa says.
"The way we explain it here, pretty men just seem more competent, so it is actually subjec- tively rational to discriminate for or against them. "
On a deeper level, she adds, the behaviour remains irrational, since there’ s no evidence that a real link exists between looks and comoetence.
