1)几个区间的数字比较：

The customer complaints received in2002 were 300 in January. Then they increased to 540 in Feb because of the computer system’s breakdown. In March they fell to 230 because an improved order system was introduced

2)一个表格的两列数字的比较

Latest statistic comparing the number of staff in our department and the average number of units ordered points out the main reason for more staff. While the number of ordered units grew from 20000 to 40000 (一列)within two years, the number of staff grew only by 5 people(另一列)

Compare the two newspapers, A and B, we prefer the former, because though it charges $500(一列) more than the latter, the general readers are 400000(另一列) more, most of whom are highly-educated.
